Lesley Ugochukwu, whose parents are Nigerian, today signed a seven-year contract with Chelsea with an option for an additional year.
In two seasons at Rennes he played 67 matches, the 19-year-old defensive midfielder has officially signed with the London club until 2030.
The contract also comes with a year’s option, according to information released by the club.
The transfer fee is reported to be 28 Million Euros
“He is an impressive young player who has already made his mark in Ligue 1. His potential is immense and we are convinced that he will continue to develop. We are happy that he joined our group in the United States. He will be able to integrate the team quickly,” said Chelsea sporting directors, Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley.
“He’s talented guy, we need to assess him. We will assess him for the transfer window to see if he will be with us because he is young,” added Chelsea boss Pcohettino.
“He has the possibility to be on loan or stay with us.”
