Osun State Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi who doubles as the Commissioner for Sports has reiterated the desire of the present administration under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke to improve the welfare packages of the state owned teams,

Prince Adewusi stated this on Friday September 15 while addressing journalists at a media parley organized by the Ministry of Sports which held at the Governor’s Office Abere.

He said “We are aware of the poor welfare packages of our football teams and we, as government are working towards better packages for the players. I paid an unannounced visit to the camp of Osun Babes FC and I saw the deplorable state of their camp. I want to categorically tell you very soon, the female team would be moved to a better camp which would be if not the best in Nigeria, one of the best.

“On the issue of salary, we are working towards getting our players paid well so that they would be able to compete with their counterparts from other states.

Speaking on the mission to reposition the two clubs, Prince Adewusi said “the Government is working on rebranding and restructuring of both Osun United and Osun Babes FC. The new management of the clubs will soon be inaugurated to replace the interim management.”
