By Sedara Oluwadara

The Association’s election which earlier scheduled for Tuesday, 11th October, 2022 has been put on hold indefinitely for the following reasons:

A. That it was unconstitutional for State Association’s EXCO to be dissolved and replaced with an Interim Committee and that the disbanded EXCO should first of all be returned back into office to supervise the election process which are to be dissolved on the General Assembly/ Elective Congress and that it is on election day their tenure can be terminated.

B. That EXCO of 18 Local Governments Council of the Association comprising Leaders and Secretaries should first be inaugurated by EXCO according to the National body directive before elections and that where there are crisis, EXCO headed by the Chairman should appoint Caretaker Committees in such local government council.

C. That only accredited/inaugurated Leaders and Secretaries of 18 local governments totaling 36 shall officially be recognized as Delegate for the Congress to vote in the State’s election.

D.That only Leaders and Secretaries of 12 local governments council in Northern and Southern Senatorial Districts of the State that are formally inaugurated are recognized.

E.That only Central Senatorial District that are yet to inaugurate their leader will do so & supervised by the Chairman & his
excos.

The association resolved to put all machineries in motion towards addressing the foregoing as a matter of urgency before a new date is fixed for the State’s election this year.
